Share
How to see the best of the park without missing a thing (and without dying in the attempt).
Torres del Paine is one of the most impressive destinations in Chile and South America. While many travelers take the famous "W" or "O" circuit, you don't need a week to experience the park's magic: with three well-planned days, you can see lakes, glaciers, and, of course, the Torres del Paine.
Here's a day-by-day guide to help you get the most out of your getaway:
🗓️ Day 1: Arrival and Lago Grey Viewpoint
- Take a transfer from Puerto Natales or rent a car.
- Enter the park through the Serrano Gate.
- Explore the Grey Lake area: walk to the glacier viewpoint or take a boat ride.
- End the day with views of mountains and condors flying overhead.
🗓️ Day 2: Trekking to Torres Base
- Leave early: it's an 18km trek (7–8 hr round trip).
- It's demanding but the view makes up for it all in the end.
- Bring waterproof clothing, an energy snack, and walking sticks if you can.

🧳 Helpful tips:
- ⚠️ The weather changes quickly: always wear a coat and windbreaker.
- 🌄 If you're going in the summer, book accommodations and tours in advance.
- 📸 Take advantage of the mornings for photos: better light and less wind.
🎒 Where to stay?
- Puerto Natales (cheaper)
- Hotel inside the park (more expensive but unique experience)
- Camping (ideal if you go on adventure mode)
With good planning, 3 days in Torres del Paine can become one of the best experiences of your life.
